Questions

What is a heater miner?

A Bitcoin miner made to sit in a room and heat it. A mining chip turns almost all of its electricity into heat, like an electric space heater, so these units are built to be quiet, safe on a household outlet and controlled like a heater. The difference is that the heat also does mining work. More.

Will it pay my power bill?

Part of it at best, and nothing is guaranteed. In a mining pool it earns small, steady amounts of bitcoin that offset some of the electricity cost. How much changes with Bitcoin's price, the network's total hashrate and your power rate. If you'd buy an electric heater anyway, that offset is the appeal.

Solo or pool: which should I pick?

Pool if you want small, regular payouts. Solo if you want a long-shot chance at a whole block (about 3.125 BTC plus fees) and are fine with probably getting nothing. Most heater-miner owners pool. Solo vs pool explained.

Can I plug it into a normal outlet?

Smaller units, yes. A standard US 15 A, 120 V circuit should carry about 1,440 W continuously (the 80% rule), so 1,500 W-class units are best on their own circuit, and don't share a circuit with another heater. Check the maker's guidance.

Why do some show "Pre-order"?

The shop takes orders but doesn't have stock to ship yet. We label these separately from in-stock listings, and the shop's page has its ship timing.

Hashrate, watts and heat are the sellers' stated figures. BTU/h = watts × 3.412. Prices are before shipping and tax; Canadian-dollar prices are converted as an estimate.
