Bitaxe Radar

Best apps to monitor your Bitaxe

Your miner already has a dashboard, but it only works on your home Wi-Fi and won't tell you when something goes wrong. These five apps add a phone or desktop view, alerts and, in some cases, a way to check in from anywhere.

Prices and features checked on each app's own listing · 3-minute read

1. The short answer

  • One Bitaxe, just curious: the built-in dashboard (type the miner's IP into your browser) plus your pool's stats page is enough, and free.
  • A few miners and an iPhone: AxeSentry ($0.99) for alerts and auto-reboot, or Miner Monitor if you want pool stats on the go.
  • Mac or Windows, and free: Bitaxe Baller, open source.
  • Mixed fleet, Android, or Avalon miners: HashWatcher.

3. Watching your miner when you're away

  • Free: look up your Bitcoin address on your pool's site (for example public-pool.io or solo.ckpool.org). If the hashrate there drops to zero, your miner is off or lost Wi-Fi.
  • Alerts to your phone: HashWatcher (with its Hub) and Bitaxe Baller Pro (Discord) can tell you a miner went offline while you're out. AxeSentry and Miner Monitor alert you on your home network.
  • Skip port forwarding. The miner's web page has no login, so opening it to the internet lets strangers change your pool.

4. What to watch for

  • Hashrate well below normal for your board: see Is my Bitaxe normal?
  • Chip temperature climbing toward the point where mining stops.
  • Offline or zero shares: usually Wi-Fi or a wrong pool setting. Check the setup checklist.
  • Best difficulty is your luckiest share so far. See what it means on the solo odds page.

Questions

Do I need an app to monitor my Bitaxe?

No. Every Bitaxe has a built-in dashboard: type its IP address into a browser on the same Wi-Fi. Apps help when you have several miners, want alerts, or want to check from your phone.

How can I check my Bitaxe when I'm not home?

The simplest free way is your pool's page: public-pool.io and solo.ckpool.org show your workers' hashrate when you look up your Bitcoin address. For the miner itself, HashWatcher offers a Hub device for remote access, and Bitaxe Baller Pro can send Discord alerts.

Should I open a port on my router to reach my miner?

We wouldn't. The miner's dashboard has no password, so anyone who finds it could change your pool or settings. Use your pool's stats page or an app's own remote option instead.

Will an app slow down my miner?

No. These apps only read the stats the miner already reports. Changing frequency or voltage from an app is like doing it in the dashboard, so the same care applies.

Which app works with the Avalon Nano 3S?

Of the five here, HashWatcher lists the Avalon Nano 3 and 3S. The others are built for Bitaxe-style miners running AxeOS.
