Bitaxe Gamma vs Nerdaxe Gaia
Old favorite versus the new chip: the Gaia runs one newer BM1373 chip and states about twice the Gamma's hashrate for only a few more watts, but it costs more and is still a pre-order at some shops.
The numbers, in plain words
- Price: the cheapest in-stock Bitaxe Gamma is $112.67 (Power Mining); the cheapest in-stock Nerdaxe Gaia is $399.99 (Bitcoin Merch), $287.32 more (3.6×).
- Hashrate: Nerdaxe Gaia states ≈2.6 TH/s versus ≈1.2 TH/s for Bitaxe Gamma (2.2× the hashrate on paper).
- Efficiency: Bitaxe Gamma ≈15.0 J/TH, Nerdaxe Gaia ≈9.6 J/TH, so the Nerdaxe Gaia gets more hashrate per watt (lower is better).
- Price per TH/s: Bitaxe Gamma $93.89, Nerdaxe Gaia $153.84 at their cheapest in-stock prices; the Bitaxe Gamma is the better value per stated TH/s.
- Running cost: about $24 a year for the Bitaxe Gamma versus $33 for the Nerdaxe Gaia at an assumed $0.15/kWh, running 24/7.
Hashrate and power are seller-stated. More hashrate raises your lottery odds, but they stay tiny either way.

Which one fits you?
Pick the Bitaxe Gamma if you want the cheapest way in, shipped today.

Neither is an income source: solo mining is a lottery.
